Maven Binoculars

I have been doing searches on Vortex binoculars, and reading the forum posts that turn up, I have seen several recommendations for Maven, saying that they are a better choice than Vortex.

Maven is up in Wyoming, but the binoculars are made in China. However, Maven does quality control in Wyoming before they offer any for sale. Or that is the story more or less.

Maven 8x42

Maven offers their more expensive "B" series and the less expensive "C".

A Maven 8x42 C.1 is $400 on Amazon right now.
The Maven 8x42 B.1 is $950 on Amazon right now.

Compare these prices to Vortex -- the Viper 8x42 is $488 (but can be found for $400). The Razor HD is $980 (and there is also a Razor UHD for $1300).

The red diopter ring on the Maven 8x42 C annoys me, but it isn't worth an extra $550 for the "B" set to avoid this.
